Calculate my own birth chart

Start with the Sun, Moon and rising sign

The Sun and Moon are planetary positions; the rising sign is the zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at this time and place. The descriptions summarize astrological tradition, while the degrees come from the calculation.

Example Sun

Gemini

23°55′ Gemini · house 9

A Gemini Sun runs on curiosity. You learn by talking, reading and trying many things at once, and you adapt quickly. The growth edge is depth: staying with one idea long enough to master it.

Example Moon

Pisces

12°18′ Pisces · house 5

With the Moon in Pisces, you absorb the emotions around you. Music, art, solitude and compassion help you recharge.

Example Rising

Libra

Ascendant 15°44′ Libra

Libra rising comes across as charming, polite and easygoing. People see someone diplomatic with an eye for beauty.

Read the wheel alongside the position table

The table gives each body's sign, degree, house and direction of motion. The wheel shows how those positions sit within the twelve houses. The North Node and Black Moon Lilith are mean calculated points, not physical planets.

Aspects describe angular separations between bodies. An orb is the distance from an exact aspect; a displayed aspect depends on the orb limits in our published method.

What changes if the birth time is different?

Compare this example at 2:30 and 2:45 p.m., then see a second case that crosses a rising-sign boundary in what a 15-minute birth-time difference changes.

Without a known time, the calculator uses local noon as a reference and omits the rising sign and houses. See what remains usable without a birth time.
