Venus rules love, money, beauty and values. Its retrograde, which happens about every 19 months, is traditionally a time to reassess relationships and spending, and a poor time for major makeovers or new commitments.
Retrograde motion is an optical effect: Earth and Venus move at different speeds, so Venus appears to drift backward against the stars for a while. Our dates are station times — when the apparent motion reverses — calculated with Astronomy Engine; see the methodology.
