Astrology life timeline
Every long astrological cycle of your life on one page: Jupiter and Saturn returns, the midlife transits of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, nodal and Chiron returns, and your progressed Sun and Moon. A birth time is optional.
How the timeline is calculated
We take each slow planet’s longitude at birth and search the ages where it can return to that degree, or form a square or opposition to it, finding every exact crossing to the minute with Astronomy Engine. Chiron comes from NASA JPL Horizons data for 1900–2100. Progressions use the sky one day after birth for each year of life. Read the methodology.
Frequently asked questions
What is an astrology life timeline?
It lists the long cycles astrologers watch across a lifetime: the Jupiter return every 12 years, Saturn’s squares, opposition and return every 7 years or so, the Uranus, Neptune and Pluto contacts of midlife, the Moon’s nodes every 18.6 years, the Chiron return around 50, and the signs of your progressed Sun and Moon.
Why is a transit exact more than once?
Seen from Earth, slow planets loop backward (retrograde) for part of each year. A planet near your birth degree can cross it, back up over it and cross it again, so one transit can be exact up to three times within about a year.
Do I need a birth time?
No for the planetary cycles: they depend on the birth date and only shift by hours. The profection year needs a birth time because it counts from the rising sign, and progressed Moon dates can be months out without one.
What are secondary progressions?
A symbolic timing method: the sky one day after birth stands for your first year, two days for your second, and so on. The progressed Moon moves about 1° a month this way and changes sign every 2½ years; the progressed Sun changes sign about every 30 years.
What is a profection year?
A Hellenistic technique that moves the year’s focus one whole-sign house each birthday, starting from the 1st house at birth. The ruler of that year’s sign is called the lord of the year.
Is this a prediction?
No. Planet positions are calculated with astronomical accuracy; the descriptions say what astrologers associate with each cycle. Astrology has no demonstrated predictive power, so use the timeline for reflection.
